As you can see below, prominent writers echo what I said at least 2 years ago about the Kashmir issue. As you can see from my blog, the US State Department’s position on Kashmir has shifted since 2011, and has been articulated in the UN in Aug 2016. Pakistan has failed to internationalise the issue.
You can read that article of mine at the end of this blog:
The entire article can be read here.
The Security Council has urged the parties to refrain from actions that would exacerbate tensions and settle the dispute in a peaceful manner through bilateral dialogue.
Why has there been such a shift in US position articulated in my previous blog?
Apart from the mistrust of the establishment in Pakistan, perhaps what is happening now is that the US sees India as a counter to China in the region.
Has Imran Khan made a strategic mistake in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370?
Check how the world interprets Imran Khan’s statement which can probably be seen as a very problematic own goal…. very straightforward as I pointed out earlier and an ill thought out statement emanating from Pakistan.
If you wanted further evidence of the massive own goal by Pakistan over Kashmir, then look at the statement of the President where he calls for a social media “war” against India.
